Everyone always asks me why and how I am so optimistic?!.....

Romance, Denver, White Christmas,

1. I am currently experiencing my fist White Christmas. The plane over to Denver Colorado I sat next to a 22 year old soldier on his way to Florida to Afghanistan, nervously holding the engagement ring for his girlfriend. Her, or any of his relatives knew he was on his way home. Romance does exist. We talked most of the plane ride over about life and war.

2. Downtown Denver is absolutely beautiful and I went ice skating for the first time! This happened because I'm always trying to do something new.

3. We have visit4ed and met family that I haven't seen is years. They are all very interested to hear about college and where I am in life and I am proud to tell them :)
1. The last few days I spent in Colorado were spent well with family and friends I hadn't caught up with in quite some time. This happened because I appreciate the relationships in my life.

2. Me and my best friend Chris de Ronde have been having a ton of fun in the little city of San Jacinto. We watched a ton of movies, stayed up late, ate good food and got slurpees at 2:00 am. Life is good.

3. I went shopping and got so many good deals on winter clothing. I even got an all yellow and an all red trench- type of . Two coats that I have been wanting for a very long time. This happened because I work hard for my money.

Yoga, Coffee, and Living Healthier

1. In an effort to be more healthy, today I had delicious caramel coffee ( with no sugar ) and have had only one cup of juice in almost two weeks. I have been drinking so much more water lately, (with absolutely no soda) and feel better already.

2. I read "Yoga Therapy for Overcoming Insomnia" a book I have been wanting to read for quite some time; got me even more inspired to take care of my body as best as I can and to live as holistically and peacefully as I can as well.

3. I slept in, and rested all day. I've wanted to spend a few days like this for such a long time & I realized I am caught up on my rest by now and am ready to have more eventful days so I started a detailed list of things I want to get done and things I want to try to go in effect tomorrow! :)

December 10th_ Advice; Spoken Word; Party

1. I woke up early to go with my mom and sister to the Upward Bound workshop where I got way too much praise & I was asked to talk about my first quarter college experience, give advice, and answer any questions the students had for me. This happened because I love being a mentor and an advocate and reaching out in every way possible. Students have already started asking for my help with scholarships and internships.

2. I spent a lot of time memorizing some pieces for a spoken word submission and finished writing a few other pieces. I did this because I love writing and usually don't have much time for it, but I specifically made time for this.

3. Me & my dad went to a party and watched UFC somewhere else. Our relationship has grown stringer since the past summer. I am extremely grateful for it.

* I also got to be the first to wish one of my best friends Christopher de Ronde a happy birthday at midnight, I wish him the happiest of happy days because he deserves it.

Dec. 9th _ Be Lazy, Do Nothing

1. Since I've been back in San Jacinto, the entire first day back I caught up on much needed sleep. This happened because I have been so busy the last week of school I knew I wouldn't be able to have fun until I was rested.

2. Me and my mom have been watching all our favorite shows. I haven't watched TV like this in months, so I wanted to know what it felt like again.

3. I woke up late, stayed in my robe the entire day, and put no make up on, this happened because I needed to remember how to feel lazy again. Sometimes after endless business, it's great to do absolutely nothing productive for a day :)

Last Day of Fall Quarter

(Picture of UCSB beach while I went running)
1. I officially finished my first quarter at UC Santa Barbara with great knowledge of how to do much better next quarter. This happened because I learn from my mistakes and have high hopes for the future.

2. After my last final I went to the Women's Center to read poetry on the massage chair then walked on the beach by myself. This happened because I have an appreciation of spending reflective time on my own to clear my head.

3. I had a great time with great friends before my train home. This happened because I figured out what genuine people I wanted to surround myself with..

Life is beautiful :)
